These are the first shots of my newest donation to the Artist Preservation Group. This one will depict Winfield Hancock as he may have appeared at the battle of Gettysburg. This 250mm sculpture will available as a resin kit exclusively through the APG. We hope to have some castings available at the Feb 09 Atlanta Show. Thanks for looking.

John Adams
Hello everyone! Here are some shots of my latest sculpture. This one is a 200mm scale piece based on the famous painting of Adams. I also used some of the Monticello bust for some details I couldn't get from the painting alone. I hope you like it. The wig texture was done using a technique I picked up from the great sculptor Mark Newman. This piece will be released commercially in the near future.
Thanks and I'll update here for release info on this piece when the details are worked out.

APG Bust Painted...Finally
After a long delay, I have finally finished painting the George Washington bust I sculpted for The Artist Preservation Group. Castings are available to order directly from the APG and I understand that there may be some castings available at the upcoming Chicago Show.
Painted in acrylics and some oils for special effects.
Thanks for looking!

More Progress....
Here are some more shots of the bust. It's coming along more quickly now. Still working the face from time to time. The fur texture was an experiment to get some kind of texture, but still retain a soft look. I hope it works. I stippled the wet putty with an old toothbrush then lightly softened it with a wet paintbrush.
I hope you like it.
Thanks for looking!

Napoleon Update 9/6
More work happening on Napoleon. I have some of the big forms for the ermine/fur and velvet robe going in and have started the detailing on the sleeve. Still playing with the face from time to time especially the mouth area which I don't think is quite right yet. Thanks for looking and come back soon for more updates!

Something Different....
Here is a new work in progress for completion next month. It is comic heroine "Elektra" and is around 250mm scale. Still working out the facial symmetry issues and starting to work on the musculature and body forms. It's nice to do a subject like this as it is a pretty big departure from my usual historical pieces. I hope this will be the first of many as I consider myself a bit of a "closet fan" of comics and superheroes! Stay tuned for more updates on this fun and challenging sculpt!

Napoleon Bust -Update 8/29
Hello again and thanks for checking in. I have done some further refining of the facial features of this latest bust. It's better than it was, but still some tweaking here and there. It's difficult with a well known face with which there are only paintings for reference as there really is a lot of variation though they still all have a certain "Napoleon-ness" about them. Trying to depict him at the coronation so he was a bit younger, too. The laurel wreath crown was difficult, but fun. Just starting to add the robe which looks a little funny, but will make sense as it develops. The sleeve folds are going in too.
Thanks for looking.
