Here is my recently completed painting of the Young Miniatures Capt. Jack bust. I reworked the likeness to Russell Crowe a bit (see earlier post). Painted in acrylics with ink/oil mixes used on the buttons.

- I started, as most in this hobby seem to have started, modelling armor when I was young. Later in life I decided to get back to modelling. I attended my first figure show in Atlanta in 1994 and have been attending shows regularly ever since. If you have never attended a figure show, I would highly recommend doing so. It's through this wonderful hobby that I've been fortunate enough to meet great and talented people from all over the world and have made many new friends in the process. These days, I always attend my local show here in Atlanta, GA as well as making the annual trek to my hometown of Chicago for the MMSI Show each October. I enjoy figure painting from all eras and also sculpting my own original busts. I have been fortunate enough to have some of my busts produced by great companies such as Pegaso Models, Adalbertus of Poland, United Empire Miniatures and The Lost Battalion. That's really nice matt. I like the way you tweaked the features and appreciate it even more now that you've painted the piece. These busts from Young are really quite amazing.
Thanks, Jim. Dark blue is always a challenge, but these busts are so well done they almost paint themselves! Not really, but thanks again. Next up is Young's GI from the Ardennes with another resculpted face followed by their Waist Gunner bust.
I have tried to find a price on this at YM's site, but came up empty. How much?
