- I started, as most in this hobby seem to have started, modelling armor when I was young. Later in life I decided to get back to modelling. I attended my first figure show in Atlanta in 1994 and have been attending shows regularly ever since. If you have never attended a figure show, I would highly recommend doing so. It's through this wonderful hobby that I've been fortunate enough to meet great and talented people from all over the world and have made many new friends in the process. These days, I always attend my local show here in Atlanta, GA as well as making the annual trek to my hometown of Chicago for the MMSI Show each October. I enjoy figure painting from all eras and also sculpting my own original busts. I have been fortunate enough to have some of my busts produced by great companies such as Pegaso Models, Adalbertus of Poland, United Empire Miniatures and The Lost Battalion. Nice paint work Matt..especially the face. Is it over a black primer ? Also are the cord & tassels a yellow as the Busby Bag or a gold ?
Thanks, Richard. This bust was primed in black. I switched over to black primer when I ran out of white and have been using it ever since. I like the results. The cording will be a bit more yellow when done than it appears at this stage. The reference pics of the uniform I got from Mike show the cording pretty close to the same yellow on the busby bag. Thanks again and more updates soon! He's nearly finished now....
Excellent work on the face, very smooth transitions, and like how you do the hair. Subtle, and realistic.
